A new study of performing arts organizations in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. released today by international arts management consultants TRG Arts and U.K. arts data specialists Purple Seven shows a decline in philanthropic revenue in 2020 on both sides of the Atlantic. However, despite a 13% decrease in revenue in North America and a 32% decrease in the U.K., there is a more diverse picture behind the aggregate figures. The study, COVID-19 and Philanthropy - Giving in 2020, reveals that in the North American cohort almost half of organizations (49%) increased their gift revenue in 2020 and almost three-quarters (74%) received more gifts than they had in 2019. International arts management consultants TRG Arts today announced that Chief Executive Officer Jill Robinson has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP). APAP, based in Washington, D.C., is the national service, advocacy and membership organization dedicated to developing and supporting a robust, performing arts presenting field and the professionals who work within it. The APAP membership voted in new board members during the Annual Member Meeting held on January 13, immediately following the close of APAP s 64th annual conference.

November 2020 saw the biggest volume of sales for stage shows since the pandemic began, new research has shown.
Conducted by international arts management consultants TRG Arts and UK arts data specialists Purple Seven, the figures are taken from 228 locations across the UK.
Box office income was up by over 50 per cent on October 2020, when a number of locations were also able to recommence performances with social distancing. They were also up by a similar amount compared with the late summer, when outdoor locations could present shows with social distancing and risk mitigation measures. TRG says the new figures display a marked improvement on what came before.
