Dominick Reyes Issues Statement Following KO Loss At UFC Vegas 25
Dominick Reyes has spoken out for the first time since suffering a brutal knockout loss at the hands of Jiri Prochazka at UFC Vegas 25 this past weekend.
‘The Devastator’ was hoping to snap a two-fight losing streak on Saturday night but things did not go to plan for the long-time light-heavyweight contender.
Prochazka was able to dictate the fight and put a beating on Reyes throughout the opening round.
Things got even worse in round two as the Czech fighter landed a picture-perfect spinning elbow that knocked Reyes out cold.

Dominick Reyes could be feeling the effects of his loss to Jiri Prochazka even more in the months to come.
In the light heavyweight main event of UFC Vegas 25 on Saturday, Reyes came out on the wrong end of a brutal striking battle that ended with him being knocked out by a spinning back elbow from Prochazka in round two.
According to the list of medical suspensions acquired by mixedmartialarts.com, the fight left Reyes with multiple facial injuries that could see him out of action until the end of October. Reyes requires clearance from an eye, nose, and throat doctor or an oral and maxillofacial doctor after an initial assessment of nasal bone fractures, a right displaced orbital medial wall fracture, and a left displaced orbital zygomatic arch fracture.
The latest UFC rankings updates are in, and Jiri Prochazka has officially broken into the top-three rankings in the light heavyweight division.
Jiri Prochazka’s knockout win over Dominick Reyes at UFC Vegas 26 earned him not only $100,000 in bonus awards, but also the No. 2 ranking in the world at 205lbs. It’s an incredible accomplishment for the Czech Republic native, who wasn’t even in the UFC a year ago. But he absolutely deserves it after beating Reyes and Volkan Oezdemir by knockout in his first two UFC appearances. As well, he is riding a 12-fight win streak. With Prochazka moving into the No. 2 spot at 205lbs, Reyes dropped all the way to No. 5. It’s also worth noting that Aleksandar Rakic also dropped one spot in the rankings to No. 3.
In Jon Jones absence, the UFC s light heavyweight title picture is quickly shaping up into one of the most competitive and intriguing across the entire promotion. Jan Blachowicz looked dominant against Israel Adesanya and faces another daunting challenger in Glover Teixeira later this year. But on Saturday, Jiri Prochazka threw his name into the conversation with a major statement victory over Dominick Reyes. Could he potentially become light heavyweight champion later this year, in just his third UFC fight?
Speaking of Jones, his efforts to lock down a heavyweight championship megafight against Francis Ngannou have thus far been ineffective. In the last week, Jones and First Round Management decided to amicably part ways. Could a new management team for Jones be the difference in making Ngannou-Jones happen?
