Were you craving some more Portland Timbers soccer? Couldn’t wait until the weekend? Well boy do I have good news for you! The Timbers are back in action with a midweek matchup against LAFC at home. It is the first time the two clubs have met this season.
The Timbers picked up a big win last time out, taking down FC Dallas 1-0 at home in front of a full capacity Providence Park. The hope is that the win somewhat righted the ship for the Timbers, who were stumbling a bit in the prior few matches. Before the Dallas win, the Timbers had earned only four points in their prior five matches.

Los Angeles FC come into their road match against the Portland Timbers on Wednesday night having won three straight matches, their longest winning streak since taking five straight from July 26-Aug. 21, 2019.
LAFC (6-4-3, 21 points) have not lost to Portland in seven consecutive Major League Soccer meetings, with three wins and four draws. It s the Timbers second-longest winless run against any MLS opponent, trailing only a 10-game stretch vs. Real Salt Lake from 2011-14.
If LAFC get the win, it would be the first time in club history the team has won three in a row away from home.
