Tom said: They ve done an amazing job at rebuilding it as it was. A lot of people have come in and said what a beautiful old building and they don t believe us when we say it s brand new. We feel we re getting the best of both worlds. We re getting a brand new pub with brand new electrics and wiring; and plumbing, but we re getting the charm and beauty of this heritage pub.
Internally they have retained the heritage features that survived, worked them into the design.

The final touches are being put to the much-vaunted rebuild of the Carlton Tavern and a pair of would-be landlords are looking to have it running again as a pub as soon as possible.
Five years after developer CLTX brought in the bulldozers, only to be slapped with an enforcement notice demanding the Maida Vale building be rebuilt brick-by-brick, Tom Rees and Ben Martin of Homegrown Pubs are looking to complete talks to take on the pub s lease in the next few weeks.
The rebuilt Carlton Tavern is hoped to reopen in Spring 2021.
