VAN WERT – Serenity Bates loved playing on a “real tractor” outside
the Commercial Building at the Van Wert County Fairgrounds this past
Saturday afternoon. A warm sun beamed down on the fairgrounds as the
aroma of carnival and fair food permeated displays of a flower sale,
garden sale, lawn equipment, lawn furniture, food vendors and craft
vendors.
This year’s Spring Fest lasted two days, both Friday and Saturday.

VAN WERT – With the climate pattern in a state of flux during the early days of April, Jim Noel, representing the agriculture department of Ohio State University, sees a leveling off over the next few weeks due to the fact that a La Nina pattern is weakening. That change, says Noel in his latest summary, will cause changes in the weather patterns in the coming weeks that will result in lower confidence in forecasting temporarily during the time that the change takes place.
