Dementia campaigners raise concerns those who live alone could be missed in roll-out

The charity said this was a particular risk for those living alone who may be cut off from their usual support network due to lockdown restrictions, while carers might also require assistance.

Former ATA chair Denis Robertson said Mr Pearson was a tremendous contributor to the industry and was highly regarded for his integrity and professionalism. Jim was a person who was committed to keeping people safe. He was willing to be the first to put up his hand when help was needed and was one of the first supporters of the ATA Safety Trailer, Mr Robertson said.

North-east dementia patients need more support

Alzheimer Scotland, which supports those living with dementia and Alzheimer’s, said many services have been disrupted this year as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. It has moved many services online, and has also been calling those it usually supports face-to-face to ensure that people are retaining their normal weekly interactions, which they would have gotten in the charity’s resource centres. Services for those diagnosed with dementia have been put on hold since March, and some only began to resume again at the end of September.
