Tropical Depression 5 could become tropical storm overnight
Tropical Depression 5 is located east-southeast of the Windward Islands and has picked up speed, moving west near 23 mph. The system is expected to move even faster in a west-northwest motion over the next 24 to 36 hours.
Maximum sustained winds are near 35 mph with higher gusts. Strengthening is forecast and the tropical depression is expected to become a tropical storm early Thursday.
