CROOKED LAKE â COVID-19 vaccinations of people 80 and older from Steuben County has begun in earnest at the Steuben County Event Center in the Steuben County Park.
Vaccinations started for that age group on Monday. On Tuesday, the Steuben County Health Department was starting to work in concert with Cameron Memorial Community Hospital, which continues to be the lead agency running the clinic.
âWe couldnât have asked for a better partner than Cameron,â said Alicia Walsh, administrator of the Steuben County Health Department.
The vaccination clinic was set up by Cameron in December as vaccines started being made available, first for health care workers. The first inoculations started on Dec. 18 and as many as 300-plus people have been vaccinated a day.

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A beauty supply store owner was strangled and beaten before authorities found his body in Decatur, a coroner report said Wednesday afternoon.Â
The coroner confirmed that a body found in a Decatur neighborhood Tuesday afternoon is the same person who was kidnapped outside a beauty supply store the previous night. The victim has been identified as 33-year-old Timothy S. Clemmons.Â
Clemmons was the owner of the Hair on Hand store.Â
Police were called out to the 500 block of Haworth Ave. around 11:50 a.m. after a body was found. Several homes were taped off as police survey the area and investigate.Â

Police were called out to the 500 block of Haworth Ave. around 11:50 a.m. today after a body was found. Several homes were taped off as police survey the area and investigate.
“You hear about it, you see it on TV,” Brian Ray, a neighbor near the crime scene, said. “I guess it is normal for some people, but for me it is not.”
