TRUSSVILLE The Trussville City Council honored the Hewitt-Trussville High School Girls Basketball Team with a proclamation during its regular meeting on Tuesday, March 13, 2021.
The Lady Huskies finished their 2020-21 season with a school-best 29-5 record. Coaches and players from the team were invited to the council meeting Tuesday night to hear the reading of the proclamation. The team made it all the way to the state championship, senior guard Amiya Payne earned the Alabama Sports Writers Association 1
st Team All-State Honors, among others, and several other players including freshman guard Jordan Hunter and sophomore guard April Hooks were also named in the proclamation for their many accomplishments as athletes.
For some, it will actually be different when they return.
Some local business owners used the state-mandated restrictions on indoor dining to do some long-overdue renovations and upgrades that made doing business possible during the pandemic.
The Wild Dog Saloon on 22nd Street expanded the outdoor patio area and added a walk-up window.
Other businesses redecorated the entire dining area, such as Bennyâs Grill on Pershing Road, which also included more spacing between tables and extra seating and updates to the outdoor area.
As a Culverâs franchise, the corporation requires an image update every 10 to 15 years. The North Water Street store was ready for the changes, according to owner Jim Wolfer.
Nissan Frontier with a Turbo VK56 V8
MA Motorsports (MAM) built this Nissan Frontier Desert Runner at their company in Glen Arm, Maryland. The company swapped the factory naturally aspirated 4.0 L VQ40DE V6 for a turbocharged 5.6 L VK56VD V8 making 600+ horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque. The V8 features Jim Wolf-spec JE 10.5:1 pistons, Brian Crower rods, Jim Wolf camshafts and valves, Garrett GTX3584RS turbocharger, and MAM custom exhaust manifold. Behind the V8 sits a Nissan six-speed manual transmission with a Driven Desire adapter plate and Jim Wolf clutch and lightweight flywheel. A Driveshaft Shop custom driveshaft sends power to a Giant Motorsports rear axle housing with a Strange 9-inch third member, ARB Airlocker diff, and Dutchman axles. The suspension features a BTF Fabrication long travel front suspension kit with King Racing 2.5×10-inch triple bypass coilovers and Giant Motorsport Link Killer 64-inch rear leaf springs with King Racing 3.5×16-inch triple bypass shocks.
City of Kentwood plans to offer spring brush and leaf drop-off for residents

KENTWOOD, Mich. â The City of Kentwood will again offer brush and leaf drop-off services to residents this spring, according to a news release Wednesday.
Starting April 3, residents can drop off brush, sticks, tree limbs, logs, loose leaves and grass clippings at the Kentwood Department of Public Works, located at 5068 Breton Ave. SE.
Drop-off hours will be noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday until May 29.
The services are only available to Kentwood residents and proof of residency will be required.
