Govt to invite expression of interests for HBFCL, JCC, FWB next month Business January 22, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The government on Thursday decided to invite expression of interests from investors for the privatisation of state-owned House Building finance Corporation (HBFCL), Jinnah Convention Centre (JCC) and First Women Bank (FWB) by the mid of next month. The Privatisation Commission Board approved the committees for the pre-qualification of the potential bidders, while deciding to issue expression of interests for the entities by mid-February. The decisions were taken during a meeting presided over by Minister for Privatisation Mian Soomro. Secretary Privatisation, board members and senior officials of the privatisation ministry attended the meeting.

The Red Zone commuters will be diverted on the Margalla Road by the traffic police. PDM rallies will be diverted towards Club Road. They can park their vehicles in a designated parking lot at the Jinnah Convention Center.

Sale of two LNG-fired power plants may get delayed

Top Story January 16, 2021 ISLAMABAD: With the possibility of accomplishing three transactions, including sale out of SME Bank till June 30, 2021, one of the major transactions for sale out of two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fired power plants might get delayed and they may not be privatized by the first half of next fiscal year 2021-22, it was learnt. The sale out of SME Bank is on the cards with the expectation that its bidding will be done within the next couple of months. The possibility of sale out of Jinnah Convention Center, Islamabad, and Services Hotel, Lahore, are also on the cards within the current fiscal year. But all these three transactions cannot be completed without the support of the parent ministry or department.
