Seafood marketplace Captain Fresh snags funding and 9 more India deals ResearchPremium
Captain Fresh, a B2B marketplace for seafood, has raised $3 million in a seed funding round co-led by Matrix Partners India and Ankur Capital.
The round also saw participation of Incubate Fund, along with investors like Jitendra Gupta (Jupiter Money), Amrish Rau (Pine Labs), Asish Mohapatra (OfBusiness) and Revant Bhate (Mosaic Wellness), and ADB Ventures (the venture arm of Asian Development Bank), per a company statement.
Captain Fresh plans to use the funds to invest in its sourcing and distribution capabilities, building its team, and in technology.

Former top Paytm exec is building his own financial services startup
The executive who built the financial services boutique for Paytm, India’s most valuable startup, is ready to do something similar all over again.
Pravin Jadhav, the former chief executive of Paytm Money, revealed on Thursday his own startup, Raise Financial Services.
This time, Jadhav under whose leadership Paytm had amassed more than 6 million Money customers is focusing on serving a different set of the population.
Hundreds of millions of users in India today don’t have access to financial services. They don’t have a credit card, banks don’t lend to them and they have never purchased an insurance cover or invested in mutual funds or stocks.
