More than 200 expatriates in Shanghai were invited to a cruise event on Friday to celebrate the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.
During the event, the expats got to enjoy various forms of art performance and the Forever Following the Party light show featuring high-rise buildings and historical architects on the two sides of the Huangpu River.

SHANGHAI, May 8 (Xinhua) With melodious chanting by students from China and India, a poetry recital was held via video link to mark the 160th birth anniversary of renowned Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore.
Students from Shanghai Jinyuan Senior High School (SJSHS) and those from its sister school, India s Tagore International School (TIS), participated in the activity on Friday.
At the event, Chinese students recited the Indian giant s masterpiece the Champa flower bilingually, while Indian schoolchildren offered a rendition of the poem Where the mind is without fear, with some adapting it into a song.
