Qatar s Ambassador to Mexico lauds QFFD s efforts to support vulnerable communities

Ever since its establishment Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has been playing an instrumental role in supporting Qatar s humanitarian endeavors. In September last year, under HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani’s guidance, QFFD inked a three-year contribution agreement with the Global Fund. The $50 million deal seeks to end the epidemics of Aids, tuberculosis and malaria by 2030 thereby contributing to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goal 3: Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages. QFFD has made great efforts to alleviate the suffering of vulnerable communities with the vision of making their lives better.

QNA Mexico City: Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Mexico H E Mohammed bin Jassim Al Kuwari praised the Qatar Fund for Development’s (QFFD) projects and its efforts in supporting vulnerable communities and improving their living. This came during a media dialogue session held by the Embassy of Qatar in the United Mexican States to introduce the projects by the QFFD, and its efforts in support of the 2030 Sustainable Development Plan.

QFFD signs Contribution Agreement with Adaptation Fund  30 Jan 2021 - 9:46 The Peninsula Doha: The Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) has signed an unearmarked Contribution Agreement with the Adaptation Fund that will go towards funding adaptation and resilience programs for the most vulnerable countries to climate change. The new contribution aims to finance climate change adaptation projects in developing countries that are particularly vulnerable to the adverse impacts of climate change, including those in least developed countries (LDCs) and small island developing states (SIDS).  The new partnership between QFFD and the Adaptation Fund will focus on helping the most vulnerable countries adapt and build resilience to climate change and will be strongly aligned with climate change integration guidelines between both parties.
