It’s a winner-take-all Game 3 at the Women’s College World Series.
After splitting the first two games of the Finals, the No. 10 Florida State Seminoles and the No. 1 Oklahoma Sooners meet this afternoon with the national title on the line.
Game one went to Florida State. The Seminoles jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and was able to hold off a late charge from the Sooners’ bats to win, 8-4.
They repeated that same early lead formula in game two, scoring twice in the first inning. But unlike game one, the Seminoles weren’t able to add to it and the Sooners made them pay.
An unrelenting batting order, an elite defense and premium pitching got the Sooners to the national title game; they can make history with more of the same.
The Oklahoma Sooners aren’t going out without a fight. In the second game of the 2021 Women’s College World Series, the No. 1 seeded Sooners used their home advantage to defeat No. 10 Florida State Wednesday, 6-2. The Seminoles won game one of the series Tuesday, 8-4. Both teams will battle it out in the winner-take-all matchup Thursday afternoon in Oklahoma City.
