Coordinator Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Federation Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sartaj Ahmad Khan Tuesday discussed issues confronted by the marble sector and crushing plants and means to address the same with Chief Executive AZMK KP Javed Khattak. Sartaj Ahmad Khan stressed for urgent measures to address the issues faced by the marble industry and crush plants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the marble sector and crush plants of Malakand, Chitral, Buner, Mohmand, Bajaur, Mardan, Peshawar and Nowshera were facing various issues and hampering the business activity. He said after the announcement of a special package by the prime minister for the construction sector, the marble and stone crushing industry needed extra incentives and attention by the government. Problems of these sectors he said would affect the entire construction sector.

Islamabad, April 16 : A special economic zone (SEZ) being constructed in Pakistan s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will create over 200,000 job opportunities for the locals, a top official said.
Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company, Javed Khattak told the media on Thursday that the Rashakai SEZ in the province is prioritized as a special economic park spreading over an area of about 1,000 acres near the provincial capital of Peshawar, reports Xinhua news agency.

Islamabad, Apr 16 (IANS): A special economic zone (SEZ) being constructed in Pakistan s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will create over 200,000 job opportunities for the locals, a top official said.
Chief Executive Officer of the state-owned Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company, Javed Khattak told the media on Thursday that the Rashakai SEZ in the province is prioritized as a special economic park spreading over an area of about 1,000 acres near the provincial capital of Peshawar, reports Xinhua news agency.
The SEZ, a milestone of the implementation of industrial cooperation under the CPEC framework, will become an important trade hub, Khattak said.

PESHAWAR: The SEZ Committee of Rashakai Special Economic Zone on Thursday allocated 40 acres of land to Century Steel (Pvt) Ltd.
The decision was made at a meeting held here on Thursday, said a press release.
The enterprise is owned by M/S Fuzhou Julitaihe International Company; a Chinese conglomerate, engaged in manufacturing and sale of Iron and Steel products internationally. Fuzhou Julitaihe International Company owns steel mills in Indonesia, Myanmar, Cambodia and Ethiopia with a net capacity of 3000 mn tonnes of iron and steel products.
Century Steel Pvt Ltd. plans to invest USD 50 mn and will produce 0.25 mn tons of steel products in their plant in Rashakai SEZ. The project will consume 45 MW electricity and employ 1000 manpower directly and indirectly. Resources from China have been mobilized and Chinese engineers and personnel are setting up a site office to execute the project without delay.
Peshawar’s Warsak Road marble factories to be shifted to Mohmand

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to shift all the marble factories from the Warsak Road in Peshawar and Shabqadar to the newly established Mohmand Economic Zone.
This was decided in a meeting held here on Wednesday with Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in the chair to review the progress on Mohmand Economic Zone and Buner Marble City, said an official handout.
Special Assistants to Chief Minister Arif Ahmadzai, Riaz Khan, Secretary, Mineral department, Chief Executive Officer, KP Economic Zone Development & Management Company, Javed Khattak, and other relevant senior officials attended the meeting. It was also decided that in addition to grant in aid, plots would be given on concessional rates to the marble factory owners who voluntarily shift factories to the Mohmand Economic Zone.
