According to new state data released Tuesday, recorded coronavirus cases in Orange, Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties have dropped low enough to release them from the strictest, or purple tier, of California’s four-tier reopening roadmap, report our colleagues Luke Money and Rong-Gong Lin II. However, as they report, the timing of reopenings depends on how soon vaccines are administered to residents in disadvantaged areas.
