For the first time since Nov. 29-30, Georgia recorded two consecutive days of reporting fewer than 2,000 new COVID-19 cases.
The state had 1,726 cases on Sunday followed by 1,736 on Monday, according to the Georgia Department of Public Health. Also, the total of 2,462 cases for Feb. 14-15 was 3,230 fewer new cases than reported for the previous Sunday and Monday, Feb. 7-8.
For the same period, Bulloch County reported 18 new cases – nine for both Sunday and Monday. Bulloch now has recorded 4,904 total COVID cases, which have resulted in 47 deaths and 90 local residents being hospitalized since the pandemic began in March, said Public Safety/Emergency Management Agency Director Ted Wynn.

And just prior to the Jets big win, the Lady Jets took care of business to move to 9 â 0 overall and 4 â 0 in the conference with a 76 - 69 win over the Central Georgia Tech Lady Titans in Americus.

The number of vaccine doses allocated by the Georgia Department of Health to Bulloch County remained unchanged through the end of the week and two more local residents became likely fatalities due to COVID-19 on Thursday.
Public Safety/Emergency Management Agency Director Ted Wynn said the Department of Health reported the two probable deaths were Bulloch citizens who received a positive antigen/rapid test for COVID-19, developed COVID symptoms and subsequently died.
