Woman charged in deadly Birmingham street racing crash returned to Alabama from Georgia

Carmesia Flannigan, 22, had been sought by U.S. Marshals and Birmingham police for two weeks. She is charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident with injury and unlawful possession of a controlled substance in the March 21 death of 52-year-old Brandy Ballard.
She arrived at the downtown lockup just before 10:30 a.m. She rushed from the vehicle with her back turned away from the cameras and did not say anything.
