ISLAMABAD: After 39 months of incarceration, the longest serving detainee of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), bureaucrat Ahad Cheema, is out on bail granted by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
The list of cases he was being investigated for is a long one. NAB investigated Cheema in the Ashiana Housing Scheme, Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Company (Pvt) Limited or QATPL (Bhikki power plant), the Punjab Thermal Power (Pvt) Company or PTPL (Trimmu, Jhang power plant), Lahore Development Authority (LDA) City Housing Scheme, Paragon City Housing Scheme, the Lahore Metro Bus System (MBS), Ravi Riverfront Urban Development Project (RRUDP) and other LDA schemes.

The four farmers arrested in connection with the murder of two brothers in Piet Retief, Mpumalanga, were remanded in custody by the Piet Retief magistrate s court yesterday.
Daniel Malan, 38, Cornelius Greyling, 26, Othard Clingberg, 58, and Michael Sternberg, 31, were arrested on Friday at Pampoenkraal Farm at Dirkieskop.
They are accused for fatally shooting the Coka brothers – Mgcini, 36, and Zenzele, 40, – when the siblings were apparently trying to break-up a scuffle between the farmers and job-seekers.

A youth who prompted a lockdown at a Wellington college has been praised for how well he has followed his bail conditions.
The boy has not denied charges of possessing firearms and ammunition following the lockdown. In February police laid a new charge of possessing a livestream of the Christchurch mosque attack against him.
The youth, who cannot be named due to his age, reappeared in the Wellington Youth Court this morning.
