96% of road development project completed: - ARAB TIMES

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, Feb 3: The project engineer looking after the construction, completion and maintenance of roads and bridges linking the cities of ‘Sabah Al-Ahmad’ and Al- Khairan residential areas, Engr Munira Hassan, said 96% of the project has been completed. She explained work on the project is proceeding at a steady pace to modernize and develop the road system in the country in addition to other road projects implemented by the Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART), which in turn will contribute to realize Kuwait’s new vision. Asphalt laying in progress in one of the areas Eng Hassan said in a press statement, “This project is one of the important development projects, and aims to develop the roads linking the city of Sabah Al-Ahmad and Al-Khairan residential city, and make good the existing roads and build modern roads according to the standard designs of highways.” She explained the project consists of six sections with a total length of 130

High costs of fodder damaging sheep trade in Syria s Raqqa

Enab Baladi Khaled al-Radi came back disappointed from the Raqqa livestock market because he failed to sell  his sheep. Sheep farming is the sole source of income for al-Radi and his seven-member-family. He has 70 head of cattle and basically sells milk in the Eastern Market located in Raqqa city to secure his daily bread. From time to time, he sells a few sheep to afford the increasing costs of fodder. But he has not sold any lately.  Al-Radi is not alone in this, for most residents in the rural areas in Raqqa depend on farming and selling cattle, milk, and dairy products to survive.

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: The security authorities have arrested an unidentified Kuwaiti and referred him to the General Administration of Weapons Investigation for possessing an unlicensed firearm and firing in populated areas and endangering the lives of the residents of the area, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, the security authorities referred the man to the Forensics Department for a blood sample to know if is consuming drugs. The arrest of the citizen came after he allegedly fired two shots from his pistol in the suburb of Jaber Al-Ali near a mosque and after receiving information police rushed to the spot and hearing the sound of the siren the suspect allegedly entered a mosque.
