On her message after an online Easter Sunday Mass organized by Kaya Natin! Movement and the Office of the Vice President (OVP), she said the Filipinos’ bayanihan spirit and concern for others will be the bridge that leads the country to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The vice president also highlighted the importance of being each other’s anchor “during these extraordinary times of darkness.”
“Alam kong pagod na tayo. Araw-araw, may balita tayong napapanood o nababasa na nakakatakot, nakakalungkot, nakakagalit. Pero this Easter, magtiwala tayo: Malalagpasan natin lahat ito (I know that we are weary. Every day, we see and read in the news the things that scare us, make us sad, and enraged us. But this Easter, let’s us be hopeful. We are going to surpass all of these),” she said at the mass presided by Rev. Fr. Tito Caluag.

Speaking in her weekly radio show, Robredo said the appointment of Interior Undersecretary Epimaco Densing III must be a lesson to the appointing powers in government.
“Para sa akin, lesson sa ating mga nasa gobyerno na tayo ‘yung nagha-hire, nag-a-appoint. Sana naman pagbasehan natin sa competency, hindi lang sa pulitika [‘yung pag-appoint], para naman iyong naninilbihan sa mga kababayan natin ay maayos (For me, this is a leason for us in government that we are the ones who hire and appoint. I hope our basis for the appointment is competency, not only politics),” she said.

“Nasa leadership natin ‘yan kung gaano niya paninindigan ‘yung ating soberanya (It is up to our leadership how it will stand for our sovereignty),” she said during her Sunday radio show.
“So, mahalaga kung paano aaksyon iyong leadership. Mahalaga kung papaano ipapakita na ipaglalaban niya tayo (So, it’s important how the leadership will take action. It’s important how they will show that they are going to fight for us),” Robredo added.
Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana’s recent statements on the Chinese fishing vessels moored in the contested Julian Felipe Reef (Whitsun Reef), which is part of the Philippines’ Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), brings her comfort, she said.
