Like us on Facebook.   BENNINGTON — The life of Dawn Bakker, a Bennington resident who helped and befriended patrons of the Bennington Free Library and students at the Community College of Vermont, will be celebrated on July 4 from 1 to 4 p.m. at her home at 207 Park St. Bakker died on April 15, during the pandemic. Her family postponed the celebration of her life at that time. Bakker was a resident of Bennington for nearly two decades. She attended Bennington College and the Community College of Vermont, and graduated from Johnson State College. Specializing in math education and math anxiety, she taught brush-up math courses at CCV, and taught a number of area residents from middle school to adults, assisting many students in overcoming overwhelming math anxiety.
