Is violence increasing in St. Louis due to a push to defund the police?
That s the claim from a May 4 Facebook post from the page Survive the Streets: A page for cops. It includes two images of newscasts from different outlets neither image is dated and implies that defunding the St. Louis police department is connected to 20 recent shootings.
The top image is labeled as FOX 2 in St. Louis , with a photograph of Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., and a quote that reads, Today’s decision to defund the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is historic. It marks a new future for our city.

Game Preview
The Arizona Coyotes played the Vegas Golden Knights in back-to-back games and got three points. They beat them 3-0 on Friday, and on Saturday, they crawled back from a 2-0 deficit to force the game into overtime.
It was an impressive accomplishment, and no matter what happens, the team should be proud of how they played against a good team. Especially, since the Coyotes don’t have too much to play for at the moment.

Philipp Grubauer made 21 saves in his return to action, Mikko Rantanen had a goal and two assists, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the San Jose Sharks 3-0 on Friday night in Denver.
Gabriel Landeskog and Cale Makar had a goal and an assist each for the Avalanche, who stopped a three-game losing streak.
Colorado played most of the game with five defensemen and then went down to four in the third. Ryan Graves took an elbow to the head in the first period and did not return with what the Avalanche said was an upper-body injury. Samuel Girard left in the third period after going into the boards.
Mayor Jones says her spending plan will allow the city to defund the Medium Security Jail also known as the Workhouse and move about $4 million to other services.
