Urgency motion: 5G sends waves through council again

Premium Content Subscriber only A matter of urgency regarding Telstra’s 5G technology rollout was brought before Byron Shire Council’s recent meeting. Before the meeting closed on Thursday afternoon, the motion was brought before the council by Cr Sarah Ndiaye and deputy mayor Michael Lyon. Mayor Simon Richardson allowed the matter of a planned upgrade of an existing communications tower at Bottlebrush Crescent in Suffolk Park to be put to a debate as an urgent item, in light of the fact submissions on the proposal are due prior to May 3. They asked that the council send an objection to Telstra for a range of reasons, including the fact Byron Bay Preschool is 300m from the tower, the Beech Flying fox camp is 100m away and the council “is still yet to see a comprehensive plan as to how 5G could be implemented across the shire safely and with appropriate infrastructure with real time monitoring”.

Housing In Florida Is Booming! | 96 3 WJIZ

By DJ 33 1/3 Apr 23, 2021 South Florida home prices are up again! Historical high prices continue to climb from month to month in Miami-Dade County, as sales price for a house rose to $491,250 up by 9%. Condo prices rose as well to $305,000. Broward also hit a record with sales price for a house at $445,000, and Condo prices rose from $200,000. “Miami is a multicultural, world-class city in a tax-friendly state, and home buyers in tax-burdened states have pent-up demand to live, work and play here,” said Jennifer Wollmann, Miami Chairperson of the Miami Realtors Association. “Low mortgage rates, the increased availability of remote work, relocating companies, Miami’s advancements as a global center for technology and finance, and increased interest from international buyers have all played a role in rising home sales.”

Decision made on contentious development for Brunswick Heads

Premium Content Byron Shire Council has approved a contentious development in Brunswick Heads. A group of community members were in the public gallery to show their opposition to the development application for The Corso, a mixed-use boarding house and commercial development in the Bayside area, when the council met on Thursday. The $6.3 million proposal, from Oniva Pty Ltd, proposed business spaces, shop-top housing and a boarding house at 94 Kingsford Drive. Judith Brazenor, representing Bayside Connected, told councillors they would be “voting to disregard 20 plus years of (their) own planning” if they approved the DA. She said residents didn’t oppose development on the site but wanted to see better community facilities included in the plans and a greater proportion of commercial spaces.

US President Joe Biden s Shameful Push for War with China and Russia

Fast Times at Ridgemont High. The new “hot” war  novel 2034 co-authored by Admiral James Stavridis (USN, Ret.) and Elliot Ackerman (US combat veteran) depicts a future war between the US and China. 2034, the movie, cannot be far behind or perhaps the rights to convert the novel into film has already been transacted between the two august military veterans and Hollywood agents. My bet is that this will be cameo filled movie with all the big-name stars of the day, sort of like The Longest Day, a movie depicting the D-Day invasion during WWII. A similar themed World War III novel was written by Sir John Hackett in 1985 during the height of first Cold War pitting the United States against the former Soviet Union. There are scores of novels on the subject, many of which can be found here at Goodreads.  What is the point of these tomes? What are the Las Vegas gambling odds on WWIII taking place? There are, indeed, gambling sites like Sportsbettingdime.com and @Everythin
