The Bottle Rockets, Pioneering Alt-Country Band, Are Breaking Up

The Bottle Rockets, Pioneering Alt-Country Band, Are Breaking Up The Bottle Rockets, the pioneering alt-country band from Missouri, are breaking up. The quartet announced the news on Tuesday (March 2), citing co-founder and lead singer Brian Henneman s desire to spend more time at home as the reason for the group s demise. Although he’s in good health, he’s been feeling the passage of time and has lost interest in anything that distracts from or takes him away from home,  a statement from the band explains of Henneman. Unfortunately, this means the Bottle Rockets can’t continue as we know it.

Patrick Pursley gets certificate of innocence after wrongful conviction

ROCKFORD Two years after he was acquitted of a first-degree murder charge, former Rockford resident Patrick Pursley is celebrating another legal victory. The CBO estimates that 0.9 million people will be taken out of poverty as a result. But a consequence of raising the mandatory wage floor that aggressively, the CBO predicts, will be t

Advertising writer Paul Burke pays tribute to the late Richard Foster, a true master of the copywriting craft who could slip into any style. The late Richard Foster: a copywriter who could slip into any style The first line of copy is always the hardest. Richard Foster told me that. He also told me this: you’ll know you’ve got your first line of copy if the second one comes to you almost immediately. Then the third, then the fourth. By which time you should have the reader engaged. Still with me? Good. Then he was right. Of course he was.
