St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School has new principal The Repository LOUISVILLE – Timothy Neary has been named the new principal for St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School. Neary is replacing principal Cara Pribula, who has taken a job as elementary principal at St. Christine School in Youngstown.  For the past six years, Neary has served as the dean of academics at Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School (VASJ). Neary’s classroom teaching experience includes stints at Horizon Science Academy in Dayton, Joyful Bilingual Kindergarten in Taicang, China, and John Hay High School in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Neary earned a bachelor s degree in education in 2007 and a master s in educational leadership in 2016, both from the University of Dayton.

Sandra Williams became the latest entrant in the Cleveland mayoral race Monday, joining a crowded contest that could give the city its first new mayor in 16 years. Joined by family and supporters, Williams kicked off her campaign at the Harvard Community Services Center in the city’s Lee-Harvard neighborhood. If elected, she would be Cleveland’s first Black woman mayor and only the second woman to hold the position. “Our city needs a woman,” Williams told supporters Monday. “A woman who has a history of delivering real results to the city of Cleveland.”

Williams, a Democrat, is currently in her second term representing Cleveland and other parts of Cuyahoga County in the Ohio Senate. If elected, she would be the first Black female mayor of Cleveland. She also sponsored legislation named after Alianna DeFreeze, a 14-year-old from Cleveland who was kidnapped and murdered on her way to school in January 2017. The bill would require schools to notify parents within two hours of their child failing to show up to school.
