Drugs. A 26-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop at Valley View Road and Clover Ridge.

Suspicious activity. An officer responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in a business parking lot in the 100 block of NE. 83rd Avenue. The caller believed the driver of the vehicle was selling drugs. The officer made contact with the driver, who stated he was attempting to catch his girlfriend cheating on him. He was advised not to park there.

Assist public. An officer responded to a report of a 7-year-old boy in the 5200 block of NE. 3rd Street who needed help in finding his mother. She was located and reunited with her son.
DEC. 4
Domestic. Officers responded to a report of a verbal domestic dispute in the 6400 block of NE. Jackson Street. They mediated between two adults who were arguing over household chores.

Suspicious activity. A resident in the 11000 block of Hillcrest Court reported that lights in their neighbor s home were going on and off and thought it might be a signal for help. Authorities were unable to contact anyone at the residence but spoke later to the homeowner who said his toddler likes to flick the light switch.
Minnesota farm leader Anne Kanten dies Randy Furst, Star Tribune
Anne Kanten fought bank foreclosures, organized tractorcades to Washington, D.C., and mobilized support for state and federal policy reforms to protect small farmers both in Minnesota and around the world.
Kanten, along with her husband, Chuck, was one of the founders of the American Agriculture Movement, a grassroots organization that built a powerful following nationwide.
She was later appointed an assistant commissioner of agriculture in Minnesota, implementing programs to protect farmers that endure to this day. She was such a fierce advocate for farmers, said Thom Petersen, now the state s Commissioner of Agriculture. She invested a lot of time in me to pass that passion along.
