Six Flags Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru extended into 2021

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. Six Flags Great Adventure is extending its new winter drive-thru spectacular, Holiday in the Park Drive-Thru Experience, which lets parkgoers drive through the 140-acre theme park.
The experience features more than 1 million dazzling lights, festive holiday theming and seasonal music favorites a one-of-a-kind, nighttime event originally operating Monday through Thursday evenings through Dec. 27. And Six Flags has announced that the experience will be extended for parkgoers.
Due to overwhelming demand, the Jackson, N.J., theme park is extending the operation to include Monday through Sunday evenings from Jan. 4 through Jan. 10 offering an extra week for guests to celebrate the spirit of the season from the comfort and safety of their own vehicle amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Members of the Captain Nathan Watkins Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution will be hanging handmade wreaths to honor veterans of various wars who are buried at the Mountain Home Cemetery on Saturday afternoon at 1.
The local chapter held its first ceremony last year at the cemetery as a service project. Veterans from six wars are buried in the Mountain Home Cemetery.In last year’s ceremony, seven wreathes were place on the graves of Ken Trammel (World War II), Robert Jones (Korean War), Ray Ramey Jr. (WWII), John Winkler (WWII), Agnes Cramlet (WWII and Korean), Leslie Pascal Jr. (Vietnam War), and Nelson E. Darrow (Spanish-American War).This year, 14 wreathes will be placed, including last year’s honorees, and seven new veterans will be honored.
