At the end of November 2019, Celeste played a three-night residency at London’s Omeara. The intimate shows were a true ‘I was there’ moment. In a sight that would now give you goosebumps: the 320-capacity venue was stacked, punters craning their necks from the back row as the crowd spilled out the door, all trying to catch a glimpse of Britainâs next soul hero.
These gigs â that showcased Celeste as a once-in-a-generation talent â were spectacular, the culmination of years of hard graft trying to break into the industry. It then came as no surprise that Celeste then topped a slew of ones-to-watch lists in following months.

It’s been a slow journey for Celeste, the British-Jamaican musician who first appeared on Tieks ‘Sing That Song’ back in 2014 and Avicii‘s ‘Touch Me’ in 2015. In 2016 Celeste released her first solo single, ‘Daydreaming’, but it wouldn’t be until late 2019 that Celeste began to gain the fame and notoriety her musical presence has always demanded. Welcome to RESET, and thank you for inviting me to join you at the very first conference of this kind.
It’s great to see the sector coming together in this way to talk about how we can rebuild and recover from coronavirus.
But before we get into COVID, I’d just like to pay tribute to the industry as it was before this terrible pandemic shook the world - and how it will be, I am confident again once this crisis is over.

Celeste has brought forward the release of her debut studio album
Not Your Muse to January 29.
The American-born British singer-songwriter s first full-length release was due to arrive on February 26, however, she has updated fans this week to let them know that the 12-track LP will now arrive at the end of this month.
The record includes the single Strange and mega-hit Stop Your Flame, plus nine new songs.
Celeste said in a
press release last month on December 30: “In making this album I have allowed myself to arrive at a place where I feel empowered, fiercely wide-eyed and fulfilled. I m very proud of what I ve achieved on my debut album and to be in this position, after the year that has been, I feel nothing but gratitude and excitement. I hope you enjoy it…”
