Myles Cosgrove and Joshua Jaynes, two detectives with the Louisville Metro Police Department involved in a raid on Breonna Taylor s apartment that resulted in her killing, have been fired.
Interim Police Chief Yvette Gentry issued official letters of termination to the two officers on Tuesday after serving them pretermination notice the week before. Both had been placed on administrative leave prior to their firing.
Along with detectives Brett Hankison and Jon Mattingly, Cosgrove executed a no-knock search warrant on Taylor s apartment late at night in March 2020, firing multiple rounds into the building and killing Taylor, a 26-year-old EMT, after busting into the apartment. None of them wore body cameras.

Cromwell CEO Paul Weightman didn’t do well in his fight with the company’s largest shareholder
ARA Asset Management moved a step closer to control of Cromwell Property Group, after the Australian property investment firm announced that its chief executive would be stepping down at year-end.
Paul Weightman, who co-founded the A$8 billion ($6 billion) investment management firm in 1998, had been leading an unsuccessful fight against board representation for ARA, which is Cromwell’s largest investor. The Singapore firm had gained board representation in September before Cromwell confirmed Weightman’s upcoming departure late last week.
“On behalf of the Cromwell Board and Cromwell securityholders, I would like to acknowledge his longstanding contribution and thank him for his dedication and hard work over more than two decades,” Cromwell chair Jane Tongs said in announcing Weightman’s planned departure to the Australian stock exchange.

Let’s face it, this is not how we want the year to end: Travel is basically non-existent (maybe next time, ski slopes?), you’re still working from home (bye bye patience and sanity), and financial stability for some could be as firm as a soggy log cake (let s hold that phone upgrade).
