A THUG launched a vicious attack on a taxi driver over a disputed fare. Paul McLellan, 29, punched Glasgow city cabs driver Malik Abaker, 43, in Glasgow’s Carntyne on January 17, 2020. McLellan was angered after paying £19.30 for a return journey to Rutherglen. He called the driver “a dafty” before launching the attack which was recorded by Mr Abaker. McLellan pled guilty yesterday at Glasgow Sheriff Court to the assault to Mr Abaker. His co-accused Sandra Dennie, 32, admitted spitting on a police officer and claim she was positive for Hepatitis C. The court heard McLellan and a “female passenger” were picked up from McLellan’s property in Carntyne.

A THUG who made a police officer fear for his life was jailed on Tuesday for 27 months. Christopher Ward, 32, raced off as Alasdair Zasada, 31, clung on to his car in Glasgow’s Carmyle on July 27 2019. The constable later remarked: “I had the genuine and honest held belief that my life was in danger.”
READ MORE: Ward was earlier chased by police after he assaulted the family of his lover Jade Walker. He attempted to board a ferry to Belfast but was caught due to having a warrant for his arrest. Ward pleaded guilty at Glasgow Sheriff Court to four assaults, dangerous driving, driving while his licence was revoked and the unlawful possession of screwdriver.
