New trolleys coming to Gainesville
The City of Gainesville recently announced a new trolley system coming to the city.
The trolleys will only be used for special events at first; however, beginning in the spring they will operate for regular lunch routes downtown. Gainesville Community Services Director Phillippa Lewis Moss said that city officials are looking to make the trolleys free and hope that the new transportation will encourage people to visit downtown lunch eateries.
New Browns Bridge set to open for travel on Friday
A replacement bridge for the old Browns Bridge on Georgia 369 over Lake Lanier will open to traffic Friday, Dec. 18 after nearly three years of construction.
