Teen charged in six armed robberies, rape in Ohio City escaped state-run hospital, officials say Adam Ferrise, cleveland.com CLEVELAND, Ohio A 17-year-old boy accused of committing several armed robberies and a rape in Ohio City escaped a state-run hospital on Saturday. U.S Marshals and the Ohio State Highway Patrol are searching for Lavelle Spencer, 17, according to the U.S. Marshals Service. Spencer escaped about 6 p.m. Saturday from Warrensville Developmental Center in Highland Hills. A warrant was issued for his arrest on Monday, according to court records. Authorities have not said how he escaped. Ohio State Highway Patrol Sgt. Ray Santiago later confirmed the escape. He refused to say how the teen escaped or release any other information, citing an on-going investigation.

THE PRIVATEER operators of Merseyrail are guilty of “pandemic profiteering” while leaving key workers without support, the RMT union said today. Franchisees Serco and Dutch state-owned Abelio handed themselves a £3 million dividend in March last year, but they have told “heroic” key workers who ran services throughout the pandemic that they must accept a two-year pay freeze. While shareholders kept their snouts in the trough, the network’s cleaners, subcontracted to Mitie, are denied the real living wage and sick pay beyond the statutory minimum, the union said. The Merseyrail concession has proved highly lucrative for shareholders, who have trousered £156 million since 2004.

Environmental Concerns RE Aquarion Plan to Divert Bpt System Water Written by Carol Barrios Fairfield, CT - Mill River Wetland Committee (MRWC) announced it has filed for Intervenor status, along with the Town of Fairfield, and other environmental advocacy groups in response to Aquarion Water’s application to the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (CT DEEP) seeking approval to transfer up to 14.2 million gallons of water per day for 25 years from its Greater Bridgeport System to lower Fairfield County. If approved, this would double the water volume Aquarion currently diverts to those towns from Greater Bridgeport through their Southwest Regional Pipeline.
