John Skipper and Dan Le Batard seeking $10–$15 million in initial financing for Meadowlark Media venture Meadowlark is looking for investment from multiple partners, not just one.

Pretty much as soon as Dan Le Batard was out the door at ESPN, we learned that he intended to partner up with another former ESPNer to form a new venture. Earlier this month reports dropped that Le Batard would be reuniting with executive John Skipper for a new media venture that eventually took shape, pointing to a progressive, liberal-leaning enterprise that would be something in the same vein as the conservative-focused Outkick. Front Office Sports’ Michael McCarthy reported that Skipper was looking to bring on talents such as Jemele Hill, Bomani Jones, and Kate Fagan, with Hill confirming that she had discussions with him already.

Leaving ESPN is never easy. But Trey Wingo seems excited about the future. Wingo hasn’t unveiled his entire master strategy, but we now know a little more about his immediate plans.
His approach to his own free agency has been launching his own football-focused podcast called
PGA Tour Live. He’ll call the first two rounds of the Farmers Insurance Open from Torrey Pines on Jan. 28 and 29 which is welcomed news for Wingo and for those who care about high-quality broadcasting.
“I thought I would always be at ESPN,” Wingo, 57, told Awful Announcing. “But there is a whole other world out there. I am enjoying that part of it. I never thought this would happen, but it has been really fun and enjoyable.”

John Skipper and Dan Le Batard, who are teaming up to create something slightly bigger and higher-minded than a liberal answer to a right-leaning website, have released the name of the pirate ship they ll take out to choppy, competitive seas.
Meadowlark Media. Or simply Meadowlark if there s limited room on the stern.
Today s release promises a creator-centric point of view. Skipper says his first order of business is finding a new home for Le Batard s popular audio programs, language that alludes to the already-beefy stable of podcasts flying under the rebel flag.
