CARE home residents are being reunited with loved ones as Inverclyde leads the way with a new rapid coronavirus test scheme. It comes after the area was selected to take part in a two-week government pilot to rapidly test visitors for Covid-19, with results returned in around 30 minutes. Two local care homes in Greenock - Glenfield and Bagatelle - have been running the trial. Inverclyde health and social care partnership director Louise Long says bosses want to protect the most vulnerable while also enabling visits with their families. If the test is deemed a success it is hoped it can be rolled out to all care homes in the area.
