LANSING, Ill. (December 30, 2020) – Throughout 2020, The Lansing Journal has documented the many ways life has changed due to COVID-19, from the earliest cases of the virus in Illinois to how holiday plans have changed because of it. At the end of a year unlike any other in Lansing, The Lansing Journal has continued to add to a coronavirus timeline going back to the first Illinois case in January, with particular attention given to the virus’s impact on Lansing. GULFPORT, Miss. (WLOX) - It is a historic moment months in the making. Healthcare heroes are getting a boost in their battle against COVID-19. Frontline workers at Memorial Hospital began the vaccination process on Monday.
“We have been looking forward to this day for months and months and months,” said Dr. John Grady with Memorial. “It’s been a stressful year so far, especially in the hospital on the COVID wards. But I think this is the start of the light at the end of the tunnel.”

In many ways Madigan has come full circle with groups and interests, and both (Madigan and the groups) have learned their mutual interests and a reconciling that trust between them and Madigan, Madigan takes it very serious and his word is his bond.
Labor too, you think how they felt with Madigan, and now how that relationship has solidified, and here with the black caucus, you have a man in Madigan, and his reputation, and looking at “the now”, you see Madigan, with his rules and his parameters, he has partners within his caucus and outside willing to be there for him, as Madigan proved to them… he can be trusted, his word is good.
HASC Chair Smith Calls For New National Defense Strategy, Nuclear Policy Review,
December 11, 2020 The House Armed Service Committee chairman’s advice to the incoming Biden administration is to put together a National Defense Strategy in its first six to nine months in office that will provide direction for further review of nuclear policy and budget-building.
As part of that strategy, “I think we should have a no-first-use policy” because “nuclear weapons are a special case. They are “weapons that could destroy the planet.” Rep. Adam Smith, (D-Wash.) said while speaking at a Center for Strategic and International Studies online forum Friday said he also wants the United States to maintain “robust deterrence” but delivered with “a more cost-effective approach.”
