Obituary: Roy Thomas Goodrich, 93, of Wallingford

Reply (Image via Wallingford Funeral Home) WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Roy Thomas Goodrich, 93, of Wallingford, died Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Masonicare Health Center. He was the loving Husband of the late Eileen (Kelly) Goodrich. He was born in Wallingford, CT, January 16, 1927, one of 15 children of the late Edwin and Mary (Chappo) Goodrich. Roy grew up in Wallingford during the Great Depression. Along with his brothers, Roy worked at the family fuel business, Edward Goodrich Fuel Company. Subscribe At age 18, Roy left school and enlisted in the U.S. Army during the final months of World War II, the 6th in his family to serve in that war. He served in the 3rd Infantry in Europe under General Patton.

Obituary: Anthony Joseph Antonelli, 87, of Wallingford

Reply (Image via Wallingford Funeral Home) WALLINGFORD, CT - (From Wallingford Funeral Home) Anthony Joseph Antonelli, 87, of Wallingford, passed peacefully January 10, 2021 at Veteran s Administration Medical Center in West Haven after a courageous battle with ALS. He was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Lee (Guisler) Antonelli for 58 years. Tony was born in New Haven on May 12, 1933, a son of the late Silvio and Mary (DeNegre) Antonelli. After graduating from Wilbur Cross High School, Anthony joined the US Army where he served as a cook. Anthony went on to receive a Bachelor s Degree in Education from the Teachers College of Connecticut.

Leo E. Ploesl – Independence – Mix 94.7 KMCH

INDEPENDENCE-  Leo E. Ploesl, 85, of Independence, IA, died on Saturday January 9, 2021 at MercyOne Hospital in Oelwein, IA. Leo was born on October 3, 1935 in Walker, IA the son of Martin J. and Mildred (Lammers) Ploesl. He attended the Prairie #3 Country School in Delaware County. For several years he worked on the family farm before joining the United States Army in 1958. While in the service he graduated in the top of his class from the Motor Vehicle Mechanic Class in Germany.  He returned to Iowa after his time in the service, in 1960 to continue farming. For ten years he worked at the Walker Sale Barn in Walker, IA helping care for hundreds of livestock that were sold throughout the years.
