Deputy Labor leader Richard Marles says those involved in representing the public should honour the March 4 Justice event by attending.
More than 75,000 Australians are expected to rally across all capital cities on Monday.
Mr Marles and Opposition leader Anthony Albanese will be attending.
“This is a day in which we should be there listening and that can only be done by attending,” Mr Marles told Sky News.
“There is a really significant thing happening within our society.”
Organiser Janine Hendry also on Monday announced she will not meet with Prime Minister Scott Morrison privately.
