Hundreds of Jacksonville-area musicians and singers have made their mark in the world of music. While many may think mostly southern rock when they think of Jacksonville, there have been some country artists and country songs that have a link to here.
Tim McGraw
Tim McGraw was conceived in Jacksonville, born and raised in Louisiana, then came to the area to live with his mom after a semester of college. He stayed in the area for about 18 months according to his recollection before going to Nashville and finding superstardom. He sang around town at different venue, including the old Pappa s Nightclub.
BLOOMFIELD, Neb. â In the midst of a pandemic, Rod Eisenhauer thought of the elderly people he could no longer entertain at the local long-term care facilities.
The 75-year-old Bloomfield resident has sung at area functions his entire life. âIâm a tenor. I donât have much range,â he said modestly.
Eisenhauer has performed at the Good Samaritan Societyâs nursing home and assisted-living center in Bloomfield for years, including the holidays. With the pandemic still ongoing, those facilities remain closed to visitors.
If he couldnât visit the residents for Christmas, he brought his music to them and anyone else who cared to listen. He turned to his Facebook page for providing music during the holiday season.
