JREDC Reflects on Economic Development in Year of the Pandemic

The Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation is taking the week to reflect on the difficult year of 2020 and the year ahead. JREDC Executive Director Kristin Jamison says that she really was proud that the organization acted as a liaison for relief for the small business community over the last year: “The JREDC really showed its worth in terms of partnering with other community organizations to work on things like small business loans and grants. We really tried to help be the place of information, and to really get information out to small businesses in this region with regard to relief. That was really, I think, the highlight of our work for this year because it was so important for businesses to have someone to talk to and to facilitate those conversations.”

Restaurant Revitalization Grant Website to Open Friday

The U.S. Small Business Administration is opening the registration process for the Restaurant Revitalization Grant funding tomorrow, Friday, April 30 th. President of the Jacksonville Regional Economic Development Corporation, Kristin Jamison says businesses such as restaurants, bars, caterers, wineries, or breweries can qualify for the grant. She says any business that has at least 33% of its revenue from serving food or drink can register. Jamison says it’s really simple for business owners to calculate if they qualify for the grant and how much they could qualify for.
