Michael Wayne Smith SISSONVILLE A Sissonville man was arrested Monday after admitting to murdering a Jackson County woman and putting her body in a water well, law enforcement officials said. The victim, Cheyenne Johnson of Jackson County, was killed near Kelly’s Creek in Sissonville by Michael Wayne Smith, 41, of Sissonville. Kanawha County Chief Deputy Greg Young and Jackson County Sheriff Ross Mellinger provided information about the case during a press conference Monday. Johnson had been deemed a missing person and was last seen in the Cottageville area Thursday, the day the murder happened at a residence Smith frequented, Young said.
