National response to outbreaks long overdue
Jewel Topsfield’s article (“Mixed feelings as Victorians tackle the third lockdown”, 15/2) was testimony to the fact that our state government appears to know of only one way to manage risk: by shutting down everywhere and hoping for the best. TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTWO/WAWV) Indiana State University police hosted its annual dine-and-donate fundraiser called Tip a Cop Tuesday at Texas Roadhouse. Its goal was to raise money for Special Olympics and the school s Polar Plunge event, which also benefits Special Olympics, that is scheduled for March.
ISU police and other law enforcement agency members performed as servers at the steakhouse and collected donations from customers. Special Olympics Indiana receives 10% from each customer s bill. ISU police will continue to raise money through other events going into April.

Law enforcement has been working with Special Olympics Indiana for the past 30, 40 years, she explained. We haven t done this for over a year. It s our first night, so we re excited to see everybody and hopefully everyone comes in to visit us.
