George Street Playhouse 2021 Gala, Dr. Penelope Lattimer, announced today that the fundraiser had raised over $452,000 to date - making this a record breaking event as the highest-grossing gala in the history of George Street Playhouse.
“Thank you to everyone who has supported George Street Playhouse,” said Lattimer. “The results of this Gala will ensure the future of our mainstage productions, and the important work we undertake with students, as we make plans to gather in person again to attend the theatre”

Kenny Shiels’ side turned the apple cart upside down when they defeated the Ukrainians 2-1 in their own backyard on Friday.
That 2-1 win by the underdogs in Kovalivka was a major upset and the Northern Ireland senior women’s team manager and his players believe the visitors will want to put things right at Seaview (19.45 kick-off).
“Ukraine were unbeaten in six matches going in to Friday’s match, and they will be annoyed at that run coming to an end. We must be ready to repel any backlash,” said Shiels in his matchday programme notes for the encounter.

Northern Ireland pulled off a 2-1 win away to Ukraine on Friday 9 April in the UEFA Women’s Championship Qualifying Play-Off 1st Leg.
Rachel Furness gave the Irish a great start with an early away goal but soon had to be substituted due to a leg injury.
The hosts got back on level terms with a header by Daryna Apanaschenko but Kenny Shiels side restored their lead before the hour mark, Simone Magill latching onto the ball and getting beyond her marker to fire home.
