Razorbacks Fall to SEC-Leader No 3 Georgia

April 4, 2021 ATHENS, Ga. – The No. 24 University of Arkansas women’s tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 3 Georgia on Sunday. With the loss, the Razorbacks drop to 10-7 on the season and 4-7 in Southeastern Conference play. The league-leading Bulldogs were out in front of the Razorbacks from start to finish, taking the doubles point with wins in both the one and two positions. Morgan Cross and partner Tatum Rice fell to No. 3 Katarina Jokic and Ariana Arseneaul 6-0 and duo Lauren Alter and Indianna Spink lost a tough 6-1 match to Elena Christofi and Morgan Coppoc. When the doubles point was clinched, senior Jackie Carr and sophomore Kelly Keller were leading 4-3 in the number three spot against Georgia’s Meg Kowalski and Lea Ma.

No 24 Arkansas to Face Memphis and Missouri

February 25, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team will have one home and one road match this weekend, set to host Memphis on Friday (Feb. 26) at 3 p.m. and then travel to Columbia to face Missouri at noon on Sunday (Feb. 28). Arkansas looks ahead to Memphis and Missouri after working itself into the ITA rankings this week, coming in at No. 24. The Hogs improved to 7-0 after they finished last weekend 2-0, opening SEC play with a 4-3 win against Ole Miss on Saturday (Feb. 20) and a 4-0 sweep of No. 25 Mississippi State on Monday (Feb. 22). Freshman Indianna Spink added to her already impressive rookie resume with her second SEC Freshman of the Week honor, announced by the league office on Wednesday. Spink went 1-1 this weekend in singles play and undefeated in doubles play, teaming up with freshman teammate Morgan Cross.

Razorbacks Open SEC Play Against Mississippi Teams

February 19, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorbacks women’s tennis team is looking to keep its winning streak alive this weekend, as they open SEC play at home against Ole Miss (4-2) and Mississippi State (8-0). The Hogs face off against the Rebels on Saturday (Feb. 20) at noon and then against the Bulldogs on Monday (Feb. 22) at 11 a.m. Arkansas (5-0) will host the two Mississippi teams after defeating Wichita State (6-1). Freshman-standout Indianna Spink secured the match win for the Razorbacks with a hard-fought victory on court one against Shocker Sarvinoz Saidhujaeva. Spink dropped the first set to Saidhujaeva, 6-1, but was able to pick up momentum and come out on top (1-6, 6-4 (6)).

Arkansas Defeats Wichita State, 6-1

February 11, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team extended its win streak to five matches on Thursday afternoon, defeating Wichita State, 6-1 inside the Billingsley Tennis Center. Doubles partners Jackie Carr and Kelly Keller made quick work of Alexandra Lazarova and Natsumi Kurahashi of Wichita State (6-2) while freshmen Razorback duo Morgan Cross and Indianna Spink defeated WSU’s Ting-Ya Hsu and Jie Xin Zheng, 6-3 to clinch the doubles point for Arkansas. The Razorbacks saw continued success in singles play, taking down the Shockers on five of six courts. Laura Rijkers was the first to earn a win, registering a 6-1, 6-0 victory against WSU’s Lazarova. Keller and Rice followed suit, taking down Wichita State’s Marta Bellucco (6-1, 6-3) and Ting-Ya Hsu (6-3, 6-2) respectively.

Razorbacks Open 2021 Campaign with 5-2 Win over SMU

January 24, 2021 FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The University of Arkansas women’s tennis team did an outstanding job at making a statement in its 2021 season opener on Sunday, defeating the SMU Mustangs 5-2 inside the Billingsley Tennis Center. Arkansas took an early lead after capturing the doubles point early. Freshmen duo Indianna Spink and Morgan Cross dropped their match to Jackie Nylander and Chandler Carter of SMU in the number one spot (6-3), but shortly after Lauren Alter and Jackie Carr would tie the score with a 6-3 win over Winslow Huth and Claudia Bartolome. It would come down to court two, where Razorbacks Kelly Keller and Tatum Rice defeated Mustang pair Hadley Doyle and Nicole Petchey (6-3) to clinch the doubles point for the Hogs.
