Let s find out below:
St Kilda v Geelong
Friday night - Marvel Stadium
CANBERRA came unexpectedly close to scoring an extra AFL fixture on Sunday.
Manuka Oval was on standby to host a second home match of the season for GWS Giants after a single COVID-19 scare last week in Sydney almost forced a sudden switch of venue.
The AFL made contingency plans last Wednesday (May 5) for the Giants that were set to face Essendon after hearing a public health announcement from the NSW government.
The options were to either switch the round-20 return match scheduled for Melbourne in August or play it down the Hume Highway at the home club’s second home.
Stocks up: Super sub
Matt Guelfi provided a spark for the Bombers when he replaced Jake Stringer, who went off with a hamstring injury in the third term. In basically one quarter of football, Guelfi had eight touches, laid six tackles, had eight pressure acts and kicked a vital goal.
Stocks down: Did
Cale Hooker walk under a ladder or shatter a mirror during the week? He should have either been paid a mark, paid a free kick for a marking infringement, or a free kick for front-on contact with just a minute remaining with his side trailing by less than a kick, but the umpire swallowed the whistle and let play go on, with Jacob Hopper kicking the sealer for the Giants just minutes later.

Who would’ve predicted 11th v 15th on the ladder would have been a better game than the Grand Final rematch?
GWS and Essendon have played out one of the contests of the season at GIANTS Stadium, the home team eventually holding on to prevail by just two points.
They were two teams not known for their consistency in season 2021, yet the see-sawing affair was more volatile and desperate than anyone could have tipped.
The Bombers were down by five goals at the 30-minute mark of the first quarter, as their consistency was once again under fire. Subject to multiple heavy losses in the first seven rounds, critics were lining up to go after the Bombers after seemingly handing up the match already.
