Peterman opened the scoring just five minutes into the contest, lofting a long shot over the head of sophomore keeper Logan Barker and into the Titans net for the 1-0 lead.

Matthew Fangmann scored a game-high six goals and Luke Mattison and Daniel Brown scored four goals apiece to lead the Spartans (14-0, 11-0 Conference 14). Tabor led the entire way as Fangmann scored the opener on an assist from Mattison with 7:45 remaining in the first quarter. Brown added a score less than two minutes later to put the Spartans up 2-0.

The Spartans led 9-7 and held the Nighthawks scoreless over the first 20 minutes of the second half, dominating possession over that stretch. Instead, Northern Guilford roared back with two goals in the final five minutes of regulation and a sudden-death goal in overtime to steal the 10-9 victory and advance to the second round. Leading the attack for the Nighthawks (9-4, 8-3 Conference 9) was the senior trio of Ava Spradley (three goals, one assist), Bailey Marsh (three goals) and Hannah McMasters (two goals).

The Black Knights (2-1, 2-0) were led offensively by senior quarterback Tedric Jenkins. Jenkins completed 15 of 27 passes for 175 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, and added 10 carries for 37 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Senior running back Jaylin Walser led the rushing attack for North Davidson with 14 carries for 75 yards (5.4 yards per carry).
