The Browns opened Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft by adding another top defensive prospect to their defense.
Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, whom the Browns drafted 52nd overall after a trade with the Carolina Panthers, is coming to Cleveland.
Here are five things to know about the newest addition to the linebackers room.
1. Owusu-Koramoah became one of the top linebacker prospects of the 2021 NFL Draft after three solid seasons at Notre Dame, where he totaled seven sacks, 24.5 tackles for a loss, five forced fumbles and eight passes defensed. Owusu-Koramoah solidified his status as a top defensive prospect in the draft in 2020, when he recorded 1.5 sacks and a career-high three forced fumbles.

CLEVELAND, Ohio Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah topped it off in the second round of the NFL Draft on Friday night. The Cleveland Browns could now put a complete, competitive defense on the field in 2021 of only players who didn’t play a snap for them in 2020.
There are six free agent additions: Safety
John Johnson, defensive end
Takk McKinley.
There are two injured players and one who opted out that didn’t play at all last season: Cornerback
Greedy Williams, safety

The Cleveland Browns selected linebacker Tony Fields 153rds overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. An undersized linebacker at 6 222 pounds, he started his college career at the University of Arizona before finishing his career for the Mountaineers of West Virginia as a graduate transfer.
Fields is known for making tackles, he functioned as a linebacker and safety type player that could run and cover not unlike Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah selected 52nd overall by the Browns.
Fields is not the athlete Owusu is, but he shows pretty decent range on the field and is an explosive athlete. He also does not have the long arms that Owusu has, which can potentially hurt him in the NFL.

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Two linebackers in one draft. What is going on with the Cleveland Browns?
Andrew Berry joked Friday that it might’ve seemed like a fever dream to see the Browns - often described as an analytically driven franchise that doesn’t value linebackers - trade up to take a linebacker (Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah) in the second round.
On Saturday, Berry grabbed another linebacker, Tony Fields II of West Virginia, in the fifth round.
Fields spent his first three seasons at Arizona before transferring to West Virginia. Draft analysts describe him an undersized linebacker (he’s 6-foot, 222 pounds). But unlike Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, the second-round pick, Fields doesn’t possess the kind of coverage skills that could see an easy transition to safety.
