Body Found in Avalanche Near Park City, Utah

Rescuers on Friday found the body of a snowboarder who was buried in an avalanche in Park City, Utah, amid warnings of dangerous conditions.
The victim was identified as a 31-year-old resident of Clinton, Utah. His body was found around several hours after the avalanche. It is with great sadness we report that the (31-year-old) male has been located and died in the avalanche, Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez said on Twitter. Our most sincere condolences go to the family, girlfriend and friends. The name will not be released at this time.

A 31-year-old man from Clinton, Utah, died after being caught in an avalanche Friday in the backcountry near Park City Mountain Canyons Village.
He has not been named yet because his family has not been notified.
The man’s girlfriend saw the man get caught in an avalanche as he tried to snowboard down a steep slope, according to a news release from the Summit County Sheriff’s Office. Numerous agencies, including Summit County Search and Rescue, Park City Fire District and Park City Mountain Ski Patrol helped search for the man. A Utah Department of Public Safety helicopter deployed avalanche control measures so that rescuers could safely ride snow machines to the area where the avalanche happened.

A man died in an avalanche Friday morning in Dutch Draw, according to Summit County Sheriff’s Lt. Andrew Wright, the fourth life lost in the last 15 years in the easily accessible but avalanche-prone backcountry skiing spot just outside the boundary of Park City Mountain Resort.

The Diamondbacks system is vastly underrated. The group includes top-end talent, flame-throwers, high-floor guys, and everything else in between. What’s even better is that there are plenty of very fantasy-friendly prospects here as well. From Corbin Carroll’s 20/30 potential to Kristian Robinson’s 40 home run ceiling to Alek Thomas’s all-around game, there are fantasy gems all over the place. Recently the D-Backs have placed an emphasis on hard-throwing draft picks, and those guys are sprinkled throughout the system too.
Looking further down on the list shows some very safe bets, meaning there are likely many future major leaguers here. Granted, they may not become superstars, but there are regulars, utility guys, and solid bullpen options here to pick from. There is a lot to like and it’s starting to rival any of the top-end farm systems. With the team still acquiring prospects, it should only continue to get better in 2021.

The staff of the Summit County Sherriff’s Office all received a nice holiday bonus – that wasn’t funded with taxpayer dollars.
Last week, a cardboard box filled with 120 envelopes each containing $50 was dropped off at the Summit County Sheriff’s Office with instructions to give each staff member one of them Before the deputy could ask for their name – they were gone.
“I mean literally it was, it was, here you go,” Summit County Sheriff Justin Martinez said. “The chief deputy asked what this for the individuals is explained what was for before they could before he could get a name. They said thank you and have a good day and they left.”
