The Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress ( APC) has asked Governor Goodwin Obaseki to make good his promise to probe the Benin stormwater project commenced by his predecessor, Adams Oshiomhole.
APC, in a statement endorsed by the Publicity Secretary, Chris Azebamwan, urged the governor to be quick with the probe and publish the same so that the public would know the truth about the whole matter.
Governor Obaseki, it would be recalled, had on Monday, promised to probe the N30 billion project initiated by his erstwhile godfather, Oshiomhole, which he described as a project conceived to defraud the state.

The Edo State Government yesterday, restated that it will not cede any part of its land for grazing of cattle in the state.
In a statement issued in Benin City, Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Osarodion Ogie, said its position on the issue was clear and had not changed since it insisted that it would not cede land to herdsmen.
“Our attention has been drawn to misleading and false media reports claiming that Governor Godwin Obaseki, has agreed to provide grazing land for herders in the state.
“Our position on grazing land is clear and has not shifted, which is that there is no free land for grazing in Edo State. Grazing is an economic activity just like poultry and piggery or any other agricultural enterprise. The Edo State Government will not cede any land for grazing.
BENIN CITY – The Edo State Government has partnered the Concerned Edo Citizens, a non-governmental organisation (NGO), to increase awareness on safety protocols to check the spread of the second wave of coronavirus (COVID-19) in major areas, markets, event centres and other public spaces in Oredo, Ikpoba-Okha and Egor Local Government Areas of the state.
The group, whose campaign kicked off in Oredo LGA, visited Lagos Street, Ibiwe, Igun Street, Sakponba Road, Airport Road, Sapele Road and parts of GRA, Ugbor, and Ugbor-Amagba.
Some markets visited include Oba Market; Yanga Market; Oliha Market; Uwa Market; Ekiosa Market; Oka Market and Idogbo Market.
