Sahakar Bharati demands more time for Expert Committee on UCBs Term ending on June 8; experts failed to submit views due to Covid Sah Bharati has demanded an extension of two more months in the time-frame for the Expert Committee, constituted by RBI to strengthen urban cooperative banks to submit its reports. In a letter to the RBI Governor which is jointly signed by the Sahakar Bharati President and the National General Secretary, the leaders have said that due to Covid conditions and the continued surge of Covid infections, it has not been possible for many UCBs, Academicians,Co-operators, etc to submit their views to the Committee.

Rajkot Nagrik Sah Bank registers phenomenal growth of 46% Huge profit is partly due to Atmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana Rajkot Nagrik Sahkari Bank in Gujarat has stood out, netting a remarkable profit of Rs 129 crores and a total business turnover of Rs 8, 276 crores in defiance of Covid 19. The profit counts a whopping 46 percent higher than the profit of last year. This was revealed during the bank’s AGM. As per the notes presented by the bank chairman Nalinbhai Vasa and the vice chairman Shailendrabhai Thakar, the bank’s total deposit stands at Rs.5,140 crore and total loan at Rs. 3,136 crore. The net NPA of the bank is negligible and will soon reduce to zero, claims the press release.

There has been a good response from the public to the drive at the government and private COVID vaccination centers. IFFCO’s MD was the one of the first to take the shot when the campaign began. Earlier, Nafcub President Jyotindra Mehta had taken the shot.

Sah Bharati: Executive Committee meeting kicks off today

Sahakar Bharati’s two-day National Executive Committee meeting will kick off today at the NCUI Auditorium, New Delhi, to discuss issues pertaining to the cooperative sector. The meeting will be inaugurated by Sahakar Bharati’s National President Ramesh Vaidya. Besides, one of the founder members Satish Marathe, National Organizing Secretary Uday Joshi, Patron Jyotindra Mehta and others will grace the occasion. The creation of a separate ministry for the cooperative sector will be the main discussion of the two-day committee meeting. The meeting will conclude on 28th Feb. Sahakar Bharati’s different units spread across the country and their office bearers will take part in the conference. More than 150 cooperators will participate in the meeting.

Rajasthan credit co-ops petition Nafcub for help

Rajasthan based Aditya Credit Cooperative Society Chairman Raghuveer Singh Charan has written a letter to Nafcub President Jyotindrabhai Mehta seeking his support for the implementation of “Rajasthan Agricultural Credit Operations (Removal of Difficulties) Act (RACO RODA) in the context of credit societies for the recovery process. The Aditya cooperative is a multistate cooperative society. He also requested help in making the law for returning the deposits of the members. The copy of the letter is with Indian Cooperative and we are reproducing below for our readers’ perusal. It reads, “In Rajasthan several credit cooperative societies have indulged in misappropriation of funds. The latter were depositors’ money parked in their societies. This has tarnished the image of all credit societies of Rajasthan.
